About Jorge — MS Information Assurance & Cybersecurity, IT professional since 2009
Hi, I'm Jorge.
Technology meets harmony.
Technology wasn't always my calling. I grew up with a bow, some drum sticks in my hand and music in my ears, dreaming of teaching orchestra. The Army changed my path and somewhere between formations and field exercises, a deep love for technology took root. Today, those two worlds feel less different than most people expect.
My BS in Learning Technologies from the University of North Texas gave me a lens for understanding how people learn and how information flows, from game design to instructional systems. Building on that foundation, I earned my MS in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity from Sam Houston State University, which deepened my expertise in malware analysis, project management, and leadership. Together, these degrees paired with hands-on IT experience across amazing companies and teams since 2009, shape how I approach every challenge: not just "does it work?" but "does it work better?"
I'm a strong advocate for automation as a force multiplier streamlining the repetitive so teams can focus on what matters. I also serve as a part-time tutor helping everyday people understand fraud prevention and navigate the digital world with confidence.
Fraud and cybersecurity threats aren't slowing down, and neither am I. I'm a strong advocate for helping the community fight back. As these challenges continue to grow, I want to be a steady, reliable resource for the people around me. A strong community is better together, and I believe that sharing knowledge is one of the most powerful tools we have. Whether it's teaching someone to spot a phishing email or raising awareness about the latest scams, I'm committed to making cybersecurity accessible to everyone, not just those in the industry.
